how do I display a pretty URL instead of execcoachpaul.wordpress.com?

  I’ve checked online forums here and it seems the WP GENERAL settings have an option to display the Title vs the url

  except there is no option to do that in the General settings??

  You might also mean you want to remove the “.wordpress.com” from your URL. Here’s information on that. http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/

  Using your example, how do I get something textual like “look like this” (what you wrote in your example) to appear up top in the toolbar search/URL field (instead of the normal display of the page URL (in our case here: “http://execcoachpaul.wordpress.com/qcp”)

  If I understand correctly, you are wanting to change the look of the url in the address bar. http://snag.gy/p6gOh.jpg (I’ve pointed to it with a poorly drawn arrow in this screen).

  If that’s what you are trying to change, I’m afraid that isn’t possible. That address is not actually part of your website, it’s a field your internet browser uses to navigate users to where they want to go on the internet, and to display the actual address of the currently loaded page.

  Permalink structure cannot be change on WordPress.COM blogs. All we can change is the slug. http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/new-post-screen/#post-title-and-permalink-url

  The blog address you have is http://execcoachpaul.wordpress.com/ and the only two ways to chnage it are what lizthefair has already pointed to:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/
