How do I display images in the post list
-
I’m trying to come up with a creative story a day (or whenever I can). For each story, I find an image on Unsplash and write something based on it.
Whilst writing the story in the WordPress editor I add an image block then start writing. I align the image to the right and that’s it.
For the first post the image showed in the post list, which I thought was nice

Is there a way to do it for the other posts?
(I did not use and don’t want to use the feature image section)
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello there,
Many thanks for reaching out.
For that first post, can you tell me if at any point a featured image was uploaded please?
The reason why I ask is because this would generally only appear if a featured image was uploaded at some point.
Many thanks in advance.

Most likely. It was the first and so I messed around a lot.
That might be it.
The reason why I don’t want these images to be feature images is that there seems to be no way of aligning them right of the content.
I only need one image per post, and it makes sense to have them as the featured image. But there seems to be no way of having that feature image align to the right of the content. Am I correct or do I lack the skills to get it working that way?

Is there a way for that to be a featured image and be aligned like that (small, on the right of the post)
Thanks

Hi there,
Is there a way for that to be a featured image and be aligned like that (small, on the right of the post)
The location and appearance of the featured image is different based on the theme you are using, but it is not an image that can be edited directly in the same way that you might with an image block.
However, for all our themes the featured image will appear outside of the text area. It’s usually “featured” in some other place of the theme, typically in a prominent location like above the post title (perhaps even appearing as the header of the site but only for that page) and there is not a way to have the featured image appear in the text itself.
My guess here is that for your one post, a thumbnail shows (in the post list) because you set a featured image on it and later removed it, but if you do not set a featured image, there is not another way to get a thumbnail to appear there.
You could try adding a featured image, updating your post, and then removing the featured image. This may make a thumbnail appear next to that post in the post list. But otherwise a standard image would not normally appear in that list, only featured images.
Hope that helps clarify what if going on. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

That’s what I thought and did try a few themes but gave up.
As you can imagine this is not at all a big deal so I’m not going to waste any more time on This.
But, if you (or anyone) know of a free theme that wraps the featured image around the main body I’d appreciate it if you share it.
This was mean to be a writing exercise so I’m not going to mess around with it anymore
Thanks
