How do I display photo descriptions in Modularity Lite theme?

    I am wanting to have picture descriptions display, along with the caption, on my blog. I am using modularity lite, and inserting a gallery with photos at the bottom of a short blog entry. The captions appear below the thumbnail pics, but I would like to have a description show when someone clicks on the photos. I can put a description in for the pictures but it doesn’t appear. Is this possible in the modularity lite theme? If not, is there another theme people would recommend for a mostly travel/photo essay type blog?
