how do I display widgets on a sidebar for my posts?
-
My widgets only show on the sidebar of pages.
I want to have my Text widget containing my copyright notice show on all my posts, preferably on the side.
I’d quite like to add a couple of other widgets to a sidebar on all my posts too.
I’m using Twenty-Eleven
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Wendy. :)
In your theme, Twenty Eleven, the only widget areas available on a Post’s page are in the Footer. The sidebar is always gone when looking at an individual post.
If you need the widgets to appear in a sidebar while on a Post’s page, I’m afraid you’ll need to switch themes. Twenty Twelve is very similar to Twenty Eleven, but would allow a sidebar alongside Post content if you’d like to Preview that.
If you’re okay with the widgets appearing the Footer, just add the Widgets you’d like to the Footer widget area, and adjust each widget’s Visibility settings to only appear with Posts, so as not to duplicate them with the Sidebar widgets on other pages.

Thanks Alex, I guess I’ll just have them in the footer until I get confident enough to make a child theme, Wendy

Sounds like a plan! :)
