How do I download all images in the media folder?
-
Hi, I have helped Shawn Heinrichs move to a self-hosted WordPress site and the import attachments option didn’t import his images to the new site and since this is a wordpress.com site I don’t have access to the uploads folder. We have a ton of images that need to be brought over and currently they’re showing up, but pulling from this old site, which we’ll want to take down eventually. Appreciate any help!

If you are importing content from another WordPress-powered blog, your media files will be downloaded from your old host and uploaded to WordPress.com automatically. Make sure you select the checkbox “Download and import file attachments” when importing to your self-hosted site.

Hey Kardotim, yeah, I was exporting out posts only and realized that you have to export everything in order to get attachments. This makes sense, but it’s also a little confusing. I can’t imagine anyone wanting to only export posts but no attachments with them, and to have to export/import all of a site’s content when you only one part of it is a a bummer:P Anyways, I did figure it out and get everything, so all is well.
thanks!
