how do i drop a blog post below others on my main page?

My latest post i want to drop below the past months posts! Have not got a clue and tried everything

Blog posts by nature are in reverse chronological order, with the latest at the top. This keeps the freshest content most visible.
If you only want to keep a specific post at the top of your site, you can make a post sticky http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-visibility/#sticky-posts
If you want to change the order for all your posts, perhaps this might help: http://en.support.wordpress.com/write-a-book/
