How Do I Edit a Custom Theme I Bought??
-
Okay, so, I’m an up-and-coming singer/songwriter, and I bought a third party theme I really liked from “Elegant Themes” to propel my music career with a nice looking musician’s website. I paid $90 so that I could have access to all of their themes for maximal customizations in perpetuity.
Unfortunately, the customizability is far from what was advertised, and I absolutely hate how unintuitive the editing interface is for this kind of stuff, especially for an newb like me. I don’t build websites for a living, I write and perform songs…….thus the need to buy a template website design instead of build my own.
Aside from my inability to create the types of pages I want to, as well as the difficulty of adding cool features like a live tweet function, and links to all my social medias with each site’s respective logos as links, I am very peeved that the “Designed by Elegant Themes | Powered by WordPress” phrase is still stuck at the bottom of every page. Obviously I need the site to look professional, otherwise it is useless to me, so this needs to be gone. I would like to learn how to code html, but it is really not at the top of my list of to-do’s, especially being a full time student, working photographer, and full time musician.
Can anyone help me out here? How can I get rid of this phrase at the bottom of the site as well as add cool features without having to learn how to write full on html code?
Thanks for your time. Sorry ahead of time for my lack of knowledge here. I’m still learning.

Themes are written in PHP not html – but does not matter since you can’t change the code here anyway – security & reliability reasons
Many of the themes are highly customizable, but it seems the instructions are a bit vague, especially to new people. Most of the custom features for looks should be under – Dashboard >> Appearance

“Designed by Elegant Themes | Powered by WordPress”
Missed that on the first time – See below for correct answer – note however that the terms of service for the Theme footer credits might still be required, depends on the Terms of Service for the Theme
