How do I edit a photo?

  Hi.

  My apologies if this question has been asked before – I just haven’t found it. It’s simple: how do I edit (in this case, crop) a photo, once it’s been uploaded? I don’t see any links/tabs/headers/instructions about it.

  There are no photo editing tools in Wp.com, so you’ll have to take it down and upload a version you’ve modified offline. The only cropping tool is for the avatar and the custom header.

  Also note that you should give a new unique name to the photo when you upload the edited version again. If your original picture was named “123” and you delete it, then upload it (edited, but with the same name) again, wordpress will rename it “1231.” That can be confusing to all except computers.
  It’s a good idea to give your pictures descriptive names rather than default numbers from your camera: I get lots of hits from searches looking for pictures of particular things.
