How do I edit my blog's appearance in a web search?

When I search for my blog online, it appears in a google search but I can’t seem to alter the title and description. Currently it is simply showing as ‘ninakanter.com’ and then underneath:
“Welcome to WordPress.com! This is your very first post. Click the Edit link to modify or delete it, or start a new post. If you like, use this post to tell readers why you …”
I would like to be able to alter the blog title so that in a web search it comes up as ‘NINA KANTER | SOPRANO’, and then underneath ‘Welcome to the website of young British soprano Nina Kanter’.

Hi there,
It looks like you may have just recently started editing the blog online – it can take a few days for Google to update their indexing.
Ultimately, it is up to Google as to what content they pull to fill that area. I strongly suspect that in a few days you’ll see that information correct, but if it doesn’t after a week, please review this information:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/search-engines/Our best advice in regard to Google-related questions is to contact them directly (but like I said, I really think this will resolve – it’s just not instantaneous).

Thank you for your help, it seems to have resolved itself now. Please could you delete this topic/question now? It’s coming up on the google search which isn’t ideal! Thanks very much, nina

Our policy is to not delete forum posts. I can mark it resolved and close it, which will prevent new comments (thereby making the content appear old to search engines). Your newer site content will overtake this in the rankings as you continue to add items there.
