How do I edit my pages?

Before I updated to WordPress 4.2.4, I was able to delete anything I wanted on my pages, such as my ‘Event’ page, in order to update it and keep it current. NOW, I can ADD anything I want to the page and click ‘Update’, and the page updates. If I try to delete anything and then click the ‘Update’ button, everything on the page disappears and nothing else happens. In order to get everything back, I have to ‘Reload’ the page. Then everything appears the way it was. Why can’t I delete anything now????

WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. I DO have a wordpress.com page. I just don’t use it to blog. I thought that’s what the option was for!
