How do I edit the HTML in the header?
-
I’d like to edit the HTML in the header to add javascript fo “websnapr” which allows links to show a pop-up image of the linked website when you hover over it.
Alternatively, is there a setting in WordPress that allows this?
Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That’s not possible on a WordPress.com blog. We cannot access the underlying php that creates HTML on the fly. All blogs here are on a multiuser blogging platform. Only Staff can access those files and edit as every edit they make affects all blogs wearing the same theme. Moreover, all JavaScript will be stripped out by the software to provide security. http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/

We need a link to your blog starting with http://
My first thought is to tell you that we cannot use javascript here on WordPress.com:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/My second thought is that you are posting in the wrong forum:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/But without a link, none of us volunteers knows for certain…

Aha. Okay, thanks. Timethief answered the question, since the possibility of editing html is disallowed from the outset. And 1tess, thanks also for the links; I just started here, so my apologies for posting in the wrong forum. I searched “header” and posted in the forum that came up as containing questions about headers. :)
For what it’s worth, my wordpress site is at http://ivorypower.wordpress.com — It’s only got the one post so far, so not worth looking at. But now I know for the future to include it in any forum posts, so thanks.
Somehow, I thought I’d remembered the editing of html being possible in the past, but maybe I’m thinking of Blogger or another site.
Thanks again!

I also note that you have not linked your WordPress.com username to a WordPress.com blog. In the even your are referring to a self hosted WordPress.org install then you must post to this forum for support > http://wordpress.org/support/
Please read: WordPress.com vs WordPress.org: The DifferencesP.S. There is no upgrade you can purchase from WordPress.com that provides the ability to edit templates or themes and the custom design upgrade (CSS editing) cannot be used to achieve what you want to do. It can be used only to change appearance; it cannot be used to change functionality.

Aaaaha, I get it. So there is a support forum for WordPress.org (the one I need to post to in this case) and then this forum, which is for WordPress.com?
Thanks for the tip on the username/blog issue. I’ll look into that!

Yes there is and you must post to this forum for support > http://wordpress.org/support/ On the top right hand corner of that page you can create a WordPress.org username account so you can post to that forum fro assistance.
