how do i edit the mobile version of the website without messing with the desktop

    I wanted to have a 30% right padding and 15% left padding on my posts template so they are condensed on a desktop screen but doing so ruins the mobile view. how can i edit the mobile theme but not the desktop theme? i tried the @ media only screen in additional css but i cant seem to get it working
