How do i edit then?
-
“Do NOT simply copy and paste your theme’s current stylesheet into the editing window. This will break any relative links (such as those pointing to images used by your theme). Should you choose to do this anyway, you will need to update all image URLs and file references (such as background images).”
I got this from http://en.support.wordpress.com/editing-css/ which… okay. So what do I copy in then to build the base before fiddling it on my own?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I see you are using Sandbox. Are you going to stay with that and build your own CSS or use a sandbox CSS skin?
If so, then select the “start from scratch” option and paste in the base stylesheet you are starting with. The support stuff is not aimed at Sandbox since Sandbox does not have any CSS at all really.
The stuff in the support document is aimed at themes other than sandbox or the new “toolbox” themes.

You’re welcome.
Toolbox is the same thing. It is a blank canvas so you would use it like you use Sandbox.
Sandbox is no longer in development by the authors so at some point it will just sort of fade away. Probably it will be a while though.

are there any “base stylesheets” to paste in with? all i know is that im not supposed to copy paste the whole thing.. and facing a whole empty blank box is kinda scary…
-
when i copy and paste the whole of the toolbox stylesheet into the box of the “Start from scratch and just use this ” option, the layout doesnt come out as it does in the original “Add this to the Toolbox theme’s CSS stylesheet” option..

oh ok i found one of toolbox’s base stylesheet to fiddle from. strange tho, it only appeared after i saved it. the preview button doesnt it shows it unedited..

The preview button has been flakey, partly due I think to browser changes. To use the preview button, click it, and then force refresh the preview page and you should see your changes.
