How do I email directly for support that is included in the $99 premium plan?

  • Unknown's avatar

I purchased a premium plan and (then refunded it several times) in an attempt to figure out HOW I can access the direct email support

I’ve been trying without success to link my wordpress site to the domain I purchased through Office 365. I need the direct email support to ask questions.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    re: mapping an existing domain
WordPress.com does not accept domain transfers but mapping an existing domain is possible.

Domain mapping of an existing domain URL that you already own and purchased elsewhere is not done free of charge. You will have to renew the domain name purchase where you made, it and the domain mapping purchase here, each and every year.

Mapping an existing domain costs $13. annually and a domain name purchase and domain mapping are included in the Premium upgrade bundle.

In order to map to a domain one must have an underlying .wordpress.com sub-domain blog to map from and it does not matter what that underlying .wordpress.com URL is. It does not have to match the domain URL.

If you have registered a .wordpress.com blog you log in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the WordPress.COM blog, and as you own a domain URL already, you can see here for mapping an existing domain. http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

It can take between 24 – 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What’s important during that stage is to be patient.

    re: email
Wordpress.com does not provide an email address for mapped domains. See:
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/add-email/

Due to the cancellations I’m tagging this thread for a Staff follow-up so do NOT email them for support please.

When we need Staff help with issues Volunteers cannot resolve like this one we type modlook into the sidebar tags on our forum threads. How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question Then we subscribe to this thread so we are notified when they respond. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.

Please post the URL of the domain you own and want to domain map to.

I own PrismHealthDx.com that I purchased during an Office 365 subscription.

When I go to this page, I do not see a contact support form. Where is it located, or is it a popup?

Thanks for providing the email address! ! !

OK, I finally figured out that the contact support link doesn’t work on https://en.support.wordpress.com/help-support-options/ with the browser Edge.

  • Unknown's avatar

Wow! That’s weird. Did you email Staff?

  • Hi again @katesbikeadventure,

We’ll be able to help you better if you leave the upgrade in place for now, and you have 30 days to cancel if you decide not to stay. Please avoid cancelling and re-adding the upgrade for now, though, since that does complicate things a bit.

I can see you have currently mapped the domain but it is not pointed here. With the way your account is right now, you’ll want to do three things:

    Change the nameservers

    – If you’ll keep using Office 365, decide which parts of the domain you want to use it with, and be sure to follow the instructions in that document

    – Wait several hours for those changes to take effect

If you need help, let us know which step you’re on. Again, chat is the best bet, but we can also help you here.

OK, I am unable to access the support form. I tried emailing help@wordpress.com, last night, but haven’t heard back – so not sure if it was even received. I’ll post again in this forum.

Can anyone help troubleshoot why, when I have paid the $99, I am unable to see an option to contact support. Is there a popup or something?
    I try the following urls
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/help-support-options

I’ve tried in Firefox, IE, Edge. Occasionally (like twice out of 20 attempts) I have gotten to a live chat window rather than an email form.

  • Hi Kate, I’ve found your email and replied.

I also deleted the extra post here so we don’t have duplicate support requests. Also, no need to include a full chat transcript in a forum or via email — we can access those, so just say you chatted with us and we can read them on our end.

For what it’s worth, chat is most available during US business hours. If you contact us outside those hours, or if no one is available at that moment, you’ll get a contact form.

Also, If you’re refreshing a lot of times on that page or pasting in the full transcript into the question box, it might be throwing the system off. Sorry this has been a frustrating experience for you, but we will help you get things sorted! Hopefully the note I sent with the IP addresses will help you get settled in and more comfortable here.
