How do I embed a link in thumbnail?
-
My publisher has sent me a thumbnail of my book cover in jpeg. How do I embed a link in the thumbnail so that readers can click on the image and have the linked site open? I have read your Image Links articles, but don’t know where to begin. I have Windows 7. Thank you.

Hi!
Are you looking to put the image of the book on your sidebar or within the body of your site (in a page or post)? Once I know that, I’ll be able to help provide additional instructions.

Hi Jeremey, thanks for the reply. I show my ignorance by answering that I thought you just embed the link once and it’s good for all apps, for all time. I thought I’d just be able to save it to my hard drive somewhere and have it sit there until I needed it again.
At this time, I’m looking to copy it into a sidebar widget in WP and also to paste it into a mailmerge email message. But, I was thinking I’d be able to paste it the way you paste just a link (FB, LI, body of a WP post, etc.).
Is there a reference out there so I can educate myself? Thanks, A.

I can definitely point you to some additional resources. However, first, let’s get a link up on your sidebar. Perhaps that will help to demonstrate how this would work.
Could you upload the image to your Media Library? Instructions to do that can be found here:

Then, could you provide me the link you would like visitors to be directed to when they click the image?
