how do I embed a tableau visualisation in a wordpress.com site?
-
I am trying to embed a tableau visualisation in a .com website here:
http://sportlovesdata.com/with the visualisation preview here: https://public.tableausoftware.com/views/s15/Windingroad?:embed=y&:display_count=no
I can see that this is nonstandard but I’m after direction from here. Work arounds are all good and if I need to move to a different platform please let me know,
Kind regards,

Hello Kirdan:
You cannot embed the Tableau, as you’ve already noted. However, you can capture an image of the Tableau, and add that as an image-link from your WordPress.com site directly to your page at https://public.tableausoftware.com/views/s15/Windingroad/ ? Your visitors would be sent from your WordPress.com blog to an outside site, so this may not be optimal for you.
If you want to embed a live chart into your WordPress.com site, you can use a Google docs spreadsheet. Not quite as pretty as your Tableau, but will give you the functionality of an embedded document.
You can also create a Scribd embed on your site:

You would have to maintain your graph in an application such as Excel if you choose this path. Finally, if you must use that Tableau embed, you may consider moving to a self-hosted version of WordPress. Due to security reasons, hosting at WordPress.com limits the third-party code you can add to your site. If you host on another server, you can add all the code you wish. Here are the differences between WordPress.com-hosting and self-hosting:

Hey thanks
A useful run down of the options for me to consider.
Ideally I’d love to just drop the tableau viz in but can now see alternatives. Thanks again for the reply
