Hi Stein,
Would you please copy and paste the Embed code given to you from Soundgine? It appears they offer multiple products and I’m not able to find any documentation on how they’re setup.
If their embed code relies on JavaScript, Flash, iframe, form, and input tags, then it will not function on WordPress.com. These restrictions are in place to prevent any disruptions in service due to potentially malicious code.
You can read more about this here:
But if you’ll copy and paste the code here, I’ll take a look and see what we can do.

Hi Stein,
This forum doesn’t accept attachments, could you please copy and paste the code into the body of your reply?

Yes of course, sorry about that; I was notified through an email and responded to that…
Anyways, here is the code:

Hi Stein,
It appears Soundgine only offers embeds using the iframe tag; their player is built in Flash, so it makes sense. However, on WordPress.com we cannot allow the use of iframe or Flash, like I mentioned earlier.
So right now, I do not see a way that we can allow a Soundgine embed on WordPress.com. I have alerted our developers of the service and perhaps its something we can offer in the future.
If you’d like to reach out to Soundgine that you use WordPress.com and would like to use Soundgine with WordPresss.com, you could also point them to our developer resources here:

Hi Alex,
Thank you for confirming my suspicion. Sorry to say, but as a new blogger and new subscriber to WordPress.com in particular, in your advertising I have found it very hard to distinguish between wordpress.org and wordpress.com. In all the promotion videos from you and in the instruction videos available on Youtube, it appeared to me that WordPress and Soundgine was a perfect match. And I love your Themes for their delicate and professional looks. I see now that I really should have notice the true distinction between wordpress.org and wordpress.com, and chosen the .org alternative with a different host.
I am a Premium subscriber with wp.com, and has paid a year’s rent upfront. I really need to present myself and my musical work through the Soundgine media player – it has indeed become the most essential tool in my ambitions.
Does this mean I will just have to wave goodbye to my money and establish my blog/shop with another host/provider, or could you come up with an other solution here?

Hi Stein,
I’m sorry that WordPress.com can’t meet your needs, and that this wasn’t clearer from the beginning. However, there’s no need to wave goodbye to your money! If you’d like, I can issue you a refund for the WordPress.com Premium upgrade you purchased and get you started with the move to a new host so you can set up a site using WordPress.org.
You have a couple options with that:
- You can keep your domain name epicbeatsforhire.com with private registration ($26) and I can cancel and refund the rest of the WordPress.com Premium upgrade (a $73 refund).
- You can keep your domain name epicbeatsforhire.com without private registration ($18) and I can cancel and refund the rest of the WordPress.com Premium upgrade and private registration cost (an $81 refund).
Either way, you can move your domain name to your new host so you can keep using it with the site you set up there.
When you’re ready to move your site over to the new host, you can Export your content from here. You can even download the Motif theme you’re currently using so you can install it on the new WordPress.org site. To do that, you can head to the Motif theme page and look for the download link under “Stats & Info” in the sidebar there.
If you prefer, we also have a Guided Transfer service that can take care of that move from WordPress.com to one of our recommended hosts for WordPress.org, so you don’t have to worry about it.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about that!

Hello Rachel,
Thank you for bringing such good news! I love WordPress and am glad there was a solution for my needs.I would like to accept your alternative 1, and I’d appreciate a guided transfer service one of your recommended hosts.
Please let me know what I shall do next.
Thanks again!
Yours truly,

Hi Stein,
Ok! I cancelled your WordPress.com Premium upgrade and issued a $73 refund. (It can sometimes take up to 10 business days for refunds to appear on your bank statement, in case you don’t see it right away.)
If you’d like the Guided Transfer, you can purchase that under Tools > Export in your site’s dashboard. Once you purchase that service, our transfer team will get in touch to coordinate the process with you. :)
