How do I enable a Follow Blog Widget?
-
I have a WordPress blog at http://www.omnichannelretailing.com that is hosted by GoDaddy and I want to add a Follow Blog Widget, http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/follow-blog-widget/ . The challenge is when I go to Appearances > Widgets:
“Once you add the widget to your sidebar from Appearance → Widgets, you can confirm or adjust the default settings:”
I don’t see a Follow Blog Widget nor do I see where I can add one. Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m confused. Your site mentioned in the first part of the above post is a self-hosted WordPress site. It has nothing to do with WordPress.com, yet you registered for a WordPress.com site.
We cannot help with WordPress.org sites as there is a different forum for that, but to add a Widget, the article you found will help you, but it is written for WordPress.com not WordPress.org.
Install the Jetpack WordPress Plugin and you will see the Follow Blog Widget appear in your list of Widgets.

@ lorelle – GoDaddy hosts WordPress, but their support knows nothing about WordPress and they directed me to WordPress, but support is offline until next Tu, 9/23, http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ , which is why I posted on the forum.
Thanks for the Jetpack WordPress plugin suggestion as I have installed it and it seems to be working fine.

Hi there,
In the future what I post below will be helpful. Some JetPack solutions are here http://jetpack.me/support/
Others are in the JetPack support forum at WordPress.org
http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpack
Note: If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.org, click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post there. However, if you can’t find help at either one then you can file a JetPack support ticket here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/?jetpack=needs-service
