How do I enable DKIM support for Google?
-
I originally posted this question on August 26th and have had no response.
In the meantime I have had many tens of thousands of “not deliverable” email indicating that someone is contuining to use my arcology.com.au domain to send out spam emails.
Here is the original message – please respond asap
I am suffering from someone hijacking my domain to send outgoing spam email purporting to come from arcology.com.au.
This is causing a massive number (50,000 in a day) of emails to be returned as non-delivery messages to my email account hosted with Google Apps as I have (email visible only to moderators and staff) redirecting to my email address.
WordPress servers are my name servers, and I would like to add a TXT record as described at http://www.google.com/support/a/bin/answer.py?answer=174124
However, I have 2 problems. Firstly, although I can get Google to generate the domain key I cant determine the correct TXT record format to enter into the WordPress domain control panel.
Secondly, you seem to have a record length constraint and the domain key is longer than the permitted 192 characters.
Can you please help to avoid me continuing to get spammed?
Thanks in advance
Craig

Hi Craig,
I’m very sorry, but there is a limit on the DNS software that we use and we are unable to change the 192 character limit for TXT records such as this. We have looked into this issue in the past.
At this point in time, it sounds like the best option is to contact Google Apps support for any other suggestions they may have regarding securing your e-mail. While enabling DKIM support through Google Apps would cut down on the spam, it does not ensure that it will completely stop the spam from being set via your email.
I apologize that there’s not a quick fix and recognize that this is frustrating. Please let us know if Google is able to provide any additional suggestions.
