How do I enable editing in the widget menu?
-
I am having trouble editing my widgets. I can’t drag new ones to the widget area. Nor can I open the widgets in the sidebar to edit them. Also, enabling the option to change them through the screen options is disabled.
Is this a problem on my end or the website?
Thanks!

Hi Nat,
Currently, it looks like you only have the default Widgets active on your site. To edit and/or change any of the Widgets that appear in your site’s sidebar, you’ll need to head over to your Dashboard -> Appearance -> Widgets page.
Here, you can activate any of the available Widgets by dragging them into the Sidebar module. For full instructions, please take a look at:

Thanks for the reply Evarlese…but I’m still a little stuck.
Right now I don’t have the ability to even drag new widgets to the Sidebar. Pressing the triangle won’t open a “pop-up” window where I was able to edit text and contents of the widget. I read on the widget instructions that there is an “Enable accessibility mode” in the screen options pull-down. I can’t access that either when I press the button and triangle. Is there something else I’m missing?
Thanks

Hmm, okay. If you haven’t already can you try clearing your cache and cookies? If that doesn’t work can you let me know what browser you’re using? Thanks!

Thanks all. We figured it out. Realized that our DNS web filter was blocking whatever function it is that allows you to drag and open the widget menus. Thanks again.
