How do I enable XML-RPC for Hootsuite

  In order to connect my blog with hootsuite, they recommend ticking a box so that “Your WordPress site must be XML-RPC enabled”. Where is this box and how do I enable this?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  XML-RPC is already enabled by default here at WordPress.com.
  Make sure that you have the correct XML-RPC URL >
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/xml-rpc/

  I tried it with the “/xmlrpc.php” on the end and still no luck

  I was using http://www.thesmileroutine.com as my url. When I instead entered http:\thesmileroutine.com, my user name and my password, the app began working for me.

  Thanks for the pointers. My URL is http://mabelboutique.wordpress.com and still no luck :(. It just keeps saying “Error: Could not find your blog.”. Really annoying…

  dbee23, can you give me an example of how you were able to get your hootsuite to work? do you have a “upgraded” wordpress.com account?

  I’m in hootsuite its asking me for:
  URL: http://theharvestplan.wordpress.com/
  User name: (email visible only to moderators and staff)
  Password: password

  I’ve tried:
  URL: http://theharvestplan.wordpress.com/xml-rpc/
  User name: (email visible only to moderators and staff)
  Password: password
  which did not work either

  then I even tried:
  URL: http://theharvestplan.wordpress.com/(email visible only to moderators and staff)/password
  User name: (email visible only to moderators and staff)
  Password: password
  Also, did not work

  then my last try in hootsuite:
  http://theharvestplan.wordpress.com (email visible only to moderators and staff) password
  User name: (email visible only to moderators and staff)
  Password: password
  Also, did not work

  Can you share how you were able to get hootsuite connected to your wordpress.com account?

  Timethief – you are a time thief. Your link and suggestion DID NOT WORK. Hence the growth of this thread. Not only is your solution NOT working for me it looks like it doesn’t work for others either so get off your high horse and offer a real solution.
