How do I enter a short question when everything is a problem.
-
It will take me years before I learn to navigate this site. I wanted to upgrade but now I have no idea what I might upgrade to – sorry, I just don’t have the time to figure all of this out. Text entry functions don’t allow for much at this level and so my submissions look embarrassingly awful. I had to delete them.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Sorry about the problems you’ve been having.
I had a look at your site, and your first blog post looks good to me. What is it you don’t like?
Is there a specific task you want to achieve that you could describe, so that I, or one of the other forum volunteers, could help?

Thanks for getting back to me. I think all would be well if I could find a way to single-space line breaks. There is simply no need for them whatsoever unless you want to detract from text appearance by having all of your dialogue double-spaced. If you know how to correct this and find the time to get back to me again, please do. I would be most appreciative. And could probably make the upgrade without having to deal with the same problem on the “Premium” level.

Hold down the shift key to single space line breaks.
Writing convention holds that dialogue is indeed double spaced, but now you know how to override that.
Don’t buy any upgrades until you thoroughly understand how WP.com works. We get a lot of people buying upgrades and then two weeks later moving their websites, thus losing the upgrades. Start here: http://learn.wordpress.com

Thank you – the shift key for line breaks works!

Are you serious? Do you read any published authors? Maybe you should check with someone like Michael Crichton or Stephen King about this because you’re giving out erroneous information. The only way that I could possibly excuse that comment is if you were referring to draft copy – many publishers require that everything be double-spaced on submission. But you weren’t referring to that. So what is your explanation? I’d like to know. After all, you are an “expert” but now I’m not sure about your field of expertise.I think I understand how WP.com works now. No, I won’t buy any upgrades. There is one thing you might do, however. . .Forward a copy of your August 5, 2013, 9:58 PM reply (sent to me) to WP.com management. Maybe they will send you to a writing convention.
I do feel a bit guilty about this sarcastic note in reply to your well intended advice. Perhaps I should thank you as well. If nothing else, you convinced me – I should probably cancel my membership. . .And cancel quickly – hopefully before you cancel me.
Sadly,

You don’t have to take anything anyone tells you at face value, but just know that raincoaster is one of the most experienced forum volunteers around.
In the future, if you are asking for assistance from the community, it would be wise to adhere to what’s written in the sticky at the top of the forums, as well as what’s written below the reply text box, right next to the “Submit” button:
We love positive and productive discussions, so please keep comments on the topics at hand and not on other members of the community. Thanks!
