how do i expand my recipe index
-
I have my recipe index set up like this:
Apps
[display-posts category="apps"]What’s the Soup Du Jour?
[display-posts category="What's-the-Soup-Du-Jour?"]Main Dishes
[display-posts category="main-dishes"]On the Side
[display-posts category="on-the-side"]
Just Desserts [display-posts category="just-desserts"]Game Day Treats!
[display-posts category="game-day-treats"]As I was told to do by support (thank you!) a long time ago. But it will only show the LAST TEN entries for each category, and I don’t know why. I didn’t set those limits, as you can see. For example, I was looking for a recipe last night for turkey burgers, which is in “Main Dishes” on August 8th, but isn’t on my recipe index page.
Can you assist me to set up my index page to allow for ALL recipes to be indexed? Thank you!

Hi there,
You can actually modify that shortcode any number of ways, perfecting it so it displays exactly how you want it (including however many posts you want). We have a help article which breaks down your options right here:
The short version however is that you can do something along the lines of this:
[display-posts category="apps" posts_per_page="30"]Let me know if you run in to any troubles!

Thank you for your response! I have made modifications (see below), and have played around with the posts per page numbers, but I am still only getting 10 as my max. I know I have more than 10 posts in my “main dish” posts, but it will only archive 10 posts. Can you help me with this?
This is what I have now: Apps
What's the Soup Du Jour? Main Dishes On the Side Just Desserts Game Day Treats! I have also tried “30” for posts per page.Thank you! -
I actually couldn’t figure this one out, but naturally one of my colleagues took one look and saw what was going on in about 30 seconds.
Around your shortcode you had put some additional code, some “pre” and “code” tags. That is what is putting the boxes and changing the fonts for your links (it’s a cool look!). The problem is however that the closing “code” tag was in the middle of the shortcode rather than at the end of it, which was making the shortcode malfunction. I went through and fixed it, moving the code tag so that it was at the end, and now everything works great.
If you’d like to see how things are supposed to look, you can edit the page and then click the tab which says “text” in the upper right hand corner of the edit screen. This allows you to see the code which goes in to your page. You’ll see the tags as well as the shortcodes.
In any case, it’s all working now and you should be good to go!
