How do I export all files from a free site?

Hello, I’d like to export the files from a free site so I can import them into an alternative hosting service. How can I get the full zip file export?

Hi, you can generate an export file by following this guide:
https://wordpress.com/en/support/export/
Please note that the export won’t contain any media files. Those will be automatically pulled to the new site when you start the import process there.
If you want to get a copy of your media files, you can use the Export Media Library tool:
