How Do I Find Blogs?

  What is the easiest way to find WordPress blogs of those with the same interests as I?
  Going to this page doesn’t allow me to see the ones I wish, like birds or birding. http://en.wordpress.com/tags/ I have gone to this page in the past via WordPress home page and I thought there was a search near the top, but I no longer see it there.

  I’ve tried using the Tag surfer from my Dashboard, but it loads slowly or freezes up. Are there any other routes to search for blogs I might want to read? I’m sure I am missing something obvious.

  There are several ways to search. See global tags for the format of the URLs please.

  Use Google search (note you replace “keyword” with one that’s relevant and also note there is no space following the colon)
  keyword site:wordpress.com

  Also add “WordPress.com” to any search string (use the quotes) seems to help a bit.
