How do I fix a formatting problem with the 'edit' and publish' screen?

  I hope you can make me happy. As a new user of WordPress following a recommendation from a friend, I have been busy writing a series of blogs based on notes taken over the past three years. All was working well until something went wrong with the editing screen. The ‘Publish’ box is now approximately twice as wide as it used to be and obscures part of the editing box. Also in the ‘Editing’ box the font appears to have changed. What have I done? How can I correct the situation? I’ve looked all around the help features but can’t find anything that helps me.

  Can you please try clearing your browser’s cookies and cache?

  Thanks macmanx. I had already tried that approach but it didn’t have any effect. However what I didn’t say in the original post was that I use Google Chrome as my default browser. In a flash of inspiration (!!) I tried switching to Firefox and low and behold the problem went away. I will now use Firefox for posting in future.
