How do I fix a typo in a site redirect?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,

I accidentally added two slashes to my site redirect, listing it as http://foxdeploy.azurewebsites.net//

I’ve read the support article here (https://en.support.wordpress.com/site-redirect/) which says that I should be able to change this under My Domains, or the WordPress Store -> upgrades. However, I think the support document might be out of date, as I do not see an option to modify my redirect anywhere here.

How do I accomplish this? It would be enough to remote the slashes from the redirect, if it’s an action that must be done my your support folks on my behalf.

    Thank you!

    Hi there,

I see that it has been removed and the Site Redirect is set to:

    foxdeploy.azurewebsites.net/

Let me know if you have any questions with this!

    Hi grace,

Check it out, if you go to FoxDeploy.com, you’re still redirected to foxdeploy.azurewebsites.net//. When I visit the Site Redirect page, I still see my site the azurewebsites url listed with a ‘/’. Can you remove this too?

Should end users like myself be able to change this, or is it meant to be a WordPress support ticket when a Site Redirect needs to be changed? According to the support docs, user’s should be able to change this setting on their own.

I took out the ‘/’. Now, clear out your cache and cookies using the guide below:

    Solve Common Browser Issues

Restart the browser and you should be set.

You can change this yourself by going to Store > My Domains in your Dashboard. Click on the button: Change Redirect Location.

Ahh! I was on this page, My Sites / My Domains, rather than using Store / My Sites / My Domains.

If anyone else has the same issue, just append this to your base url

    /wp-admin/admin.php?page=domains
