How do I fix an email issue?
-
iPage says that the mx records of the domain name is not pointing at their server and the mx records need to go to mx.ipage.com. I thought I did the right thing when I set it up, but there seems to be a problem. Can you please help? Thank you.

Hi there,
Can you let me know a little bit about what you’re looking to do? Are you trying to point your domain to an iPage hosted site?
-
hi Jeremey,
I’ve mapped the domain name to the WordPress site. Now I’m trying to create an email address. I followed the instructions on the iPage site, but when I test it, all I get are emails that bounce back. Can you tell me what I’m missing? Thanks very much. -
Hi!
Thanks for clarifying. In order for the email address to work, you’ll need to add the correct DNS records to your domain as explained here:
Is the MX record pointing to mx.ipage.com the only DNS record you were given?
-
yes. I contacted them when I had a problem and they basically said talk to wordpress. Now that I’ve looked at the article you linked to, it looks like I need to edit the “mail handled by” portion. But I don’t know what it should read. I’m trying to contact them for specifics. Sigh.

Hi!
I’m sorry for the frustration! If you could ask them what DNS records you need to add in for your email address to work, I’m happy to add them for you. I’m unable to find this information online.
