How do I fix my XML RSS podcast feed?

    I am trying to submit my WordPress podcast to iTunes. I go to validate my feed at feedvalidator but it says there are a few problems. These problems seem to be affecting my podcasting ability with iTunes because none of my previous episodes show up in iTunes; just the image and the title. My question: How do I fix the problems in my RSS that have been pointed out by feedvalidator? Thank you!

    Hi Jonathan,

    Did you follow these instructions to set up your podcast and to submit it through Feedburner before submitting it to iTunes:
    Podcasting

    If so, can you please reply with the RSS feed you’re entering?

    Hi there,

    I go to validate my feed at feedvalidator but it says there are a few problems. These problems seem to be affecting my podcasting ability with iTunes because none of my previous episodes show up in iTunes; just the image and the title.

    Can you tell me the errors you are seeing on your end. The primary thing I notice when I look at your feed through a validator is that you have not included a link to an audio file (an iTunes requirement) but instead are using a Soundcloud iframe embed.

    It is my understanding that the audio on your post ir not directly downloadable by iTunes (there is no way to download an audio file through an iframe) and that is why you may only be seeing the title and artwork being passed to iTunes.

    Can you try uploading an audio file to your media library and embedding it into your next post, which should give iTunes a direct download path to the file? Just follow the instructions here, using any method other than the Soundcloud embed: http://en.support.wordpress.com/audio/#adding-audio-files-to-your-blog

    SUCCESS! Thank you, thank you! This had befuddled me for weeks. It works! You can find it in iTunes, Palmetto State Racket, the official podcast of the USTA South Carolina. USTA = United States Tennis Association.
