How do I force a contact form to be beyond the jump on Intergalactic?
-
I’m using the “Intergalactic” wordpress theme, and have a post with a contact form in it. I’d like the form to not show up on the first page, so I’ve supplied “excerpt” text for that post. However, without a
<!--more-->tag, the entire contact form shows up on the front page — no excerpt. So, the
<!--more-->tag works, but it generates two click-through boxes (like this: http://snag.gy/5zRMd.jpg).Here’s the site in question, on which you can see the entire form visible on the front page under the “RSVP” post: http://noriandjack.wordpress.com/ .
Ideally I just want the “Read More” box, but I’d settle for either one or the other. How can I get this?
Thanks!

Hi there. I see the support doc for your theme provides very little information on how the theme works, but it looks like your theme displays excerpts by default.
Try writing a custom excerpt for the post with the contact form. In the post editor, look for the excerpts module and type the text you want to appear on the front page there. Update the post and now your custom excerpt should replace the automatic excerpt containing the contact form.
I’m also tagging this for staff regarding the duplication of click-through boxes when the more-tag is used. If the custom excerpt doesn’t work, please make sure you’re subscribed to this thread and then be patient while waiting for staff to respond.

@kokkieh: Thanks! I should have mentioned that I’ve tried this, and it doesn’t work. I’ve updated the excerpt for that post to be “Here is a custom excerpt.” Reloading the front page, the excerpt doesn’t render at all — rather, the front page still shows the entire form: https://noriandjack.wordpress.com/ .
I’m subscribed to this thread for updates. I’m happy to use my
<!--more-->hack to force a jump, and would to not have duplicate click-through boxes. Thanks!

Howdy!
Intergalatic is ignoring the custom excerpt for that post because it’s currently set to the “Image” post format.
If you’ll adjust that post to the “Standard” format, only the custom excerpt will appear on your front page, and readers can click the standard Read More box to get to the post.
To adjust the post format, edit the post here:

Under “Advanced Settings” select the Post Format dropdown and choose Standard. (Example.)
Then click the blue Update button to update the post.

Pretty easy to miss; it took me a bit to think of it too. :)
Best wishes on the wedding!
