How do I force the featured image and not a video to show in the Reader?

If a blog post contains a video, the video appears in the Reader instead of the featured image. How can I make sure the featured image shows up, not the video?
A recent post of mine called What I Watched This Week 11 has a featured image, but when the post shows up in the Reader a video in the post is displayed instead.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It appears that there is no way to do that right now. If there is an embed, the reader will grab the video over the featured image.

After some more digging, you might test this out. Try changing the post format to “image” rather than “standard”.

You’ve only gone and solved the problem, rootjosh! Selecting image instead of standard makes the featured image show up in the reader.
