How do I get a blog post into the Blog menu item?

This is my first time to blog, and I do not know how to put the post into the blog title? Every time I try to write a blog post, I will “publish” it and I cannot find it on my site. It gets published on a different page from my “blog ” page. So when I clink on the “blog” link at the top right of my website, there is no post that shows up. How can I fix this?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Volunteers cannot view private blogs and we Volunteers do not request access to them. Therefore, I do not know which theme you have and what you have done. Staff can view private blog content and if you need their help type modlook into the tags in the sidebar of this thread for their assistance. Then be patient while waiting for a response and subscribe to this thread so you are notified when they respond. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.

Howdy!
I’ve adjusted your settings so that your posts will publish to your Blog page and your viewers will land at your Home (static) front page.
There haven’t been any published posts on the site yet. There are 2 sample posts and “Blue Baby Shoes” post that is still saved as a draft.
If you go to My Sites > Posts > Blue Baby Shoes and publish that post it will show up on the Blog page tab in the menu.
