How do I get a 'hot link' to insert on my sidebar??

  How do I get a web link from another blog to paste into my widget? I have searched and searched; I hate to ‘bother’ technical support or other bloggers. But it is important to me and I just can’t figure it out!! Make the answer simple with (1), (2), (3) type of instructions.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  I’m not clear on why you want to hotlink, if you have permission to do so from the owner of that content, and where that content is at. Please post the URL where the content is situate.

  Yes, I have “permission” because I own both blogs. I want to put a hot link in the side bar so a reader can click and go to that blog. Just putting (example) http://www.ThreeQuartersAndCounting.com does no activate. ~~ I’ve read so many instructions!! I’ve tried to find my answer. THANKS for your response.

  don’t know about a “hot link” but use the link Widget – drag and drop it to the sidebar and add the site you want to link to – or if you are good with html put the link in a Text Widget

  I don’t know how to prepare the link in HTML. That’s why I’m trying to find how to copy the link and paste it as text into the widget.

  Sincere THANKS; the second link provided the detailed information I need. (First link never loaded.) I’ve been through the process several times on each blog site and I’m not sure either site is displaying the alternate site. I think I need to go to another computer (a friend’s computer) and pull up the blogs and see if I have what I want. ~~ I send best wishes for a Happy New Year.

  you are welcome – I use that Widget on my site, but always have a bit of a false start when I need to update it – glad you are going in the right direction
