how do I get a page to lay out with text and photos with captions as I want?

Setting up a page with text, photos and captions: I can’t get the photos to appear where I want. I’ll change it either in Text view or real view, go to the other view, and things have changed. Then I’ll save it and go to the real page, and it appears different again. I want the text on the left and the photos on the right, below one another.

Hi there –
Photos can either be left-aligned (with the text wrapping around the right of them) or right-aligned (text wrapping around the left) or they can be center-justified, with the text breaking above and below.
There’s no simple way to arrange an individual post or page into two columns, with images on one side and text on the other, which I think is what you are describing.
You might try using one of our gallery formats, which fixes your images into a grid:
