how do I get a tutorial which shows my dashboard?

I believed I could go through your tutorial but…zero to hero shows a different dashboard layout than mine. It also says to do things that I can’t see on my dashboard such as in get acquainted “We recommend that you take a minute to poke around the various dashboard menus, then head to Settings > General at the bottom” (I’m assuming ‘bottom’ of my dashboard?)and in get customized “Appearance > Themes area of your dashboard:”
Perhaps I’m not looking at ‘my dashboard’? In which case can you assume I’ve never had a blog (haven’t) and take me from your answer to how to get to my dashboard and also how to get to it from the net?
Also, where do I find your answer? In my email? In my ‘dashboard’? somewhere I don’t know about?

PS If you’ve written ‘tons of answers’ to this question I’m really lost because I can’t remember all the places I’ve clicked to trying to understand as it is :)

I feel so silly…. seems that after a long break I now realize my screen was blown to 150% and I couldn’t see the left side…. everything is good now…thanks alot :)
