How do I get an image to show when I post a link to my blog?

  When I post a link to my blog (for instance to Facebook or similar sites) The link shows but without an image. Or rather the image is there but it is only a blank square so shows up as no image. How can I place an image either within the blog as a whole or within a specific post so that it will show beside the link?

  My blog does contain both an image header that appears on every page and post. It also contains a gravitar image. Neither of these shows up when I post a link.

  I appreciate any suggestions. Thank you.

  Try setting a blog image through WordPress admin –> Settings –> General.

  Hi Lorenzocaum

  I just tried that. It did create a blog avatar that shows up beside the blog name wherever it appears on WordPress. However, I am still not getting an image (only an invisible square) beside the blog name in link-postings on Facebook and other sites.

  Anyone have any other suggestions?
