How do I get back the custom URL for a WordPress site I deleted?

  I had a WordPress site that used a domain which I purchased through GoDaddy. That site became unmanageable due to a number of factors, including plugins that didn’t function properly. I eventually created another, totally separate WordPress site to replace the old one. I deleted the old site, but WordPress will not let me point the new site to the custom domain because it still thinks the custom domain is in use by the old site. How do I reset this and reclaim my domain?

  We cannot help you with sites using WordPress.ORG software, which is what you’re talking about. Go to their forums for help on that.

  Thanks for the response, but here’s the message I’m getting when I try to map it:

  Sorry but busterblank.com is already mapped to a WordPress.com blog.

  This says .com, not .org. Thoughts?

  Well if the old site had plugins, it was not a WordPress.com site and I’m out of ideas.
