How do I get byronhome.wordpress.com to replace byronhome.com?
-
I own the domain name byronhome.com, but the site is outdated and I want to replace it with the site I built a site on byronhome.worpress.com. Byronhome.com is hosted by TLC Web Hosting and I have been communicating with them about this process. I sent them the following information that I found on your website:
“I would like to use my domain with a WordPress.com site. In order to do this, I need to point my domain’s name servers to the following:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COMAdditionally, can you please provide me with the complete MX and/or other DNS records I will need to enter on WordPress.com’s end, so that my email on this domain will continue to function after my name servers have been updated?”
They responded by saying:
“Can you ask WordPress.com for the IP that your site will need to point to? What they’re recommending is that they take control of your domain pointers. This is fine but there are some real advantages of keeping the control in your hands. Tell them you would prefer to keep the domain pointed to the current name servers and have them provide you with the “A RECORD” where we should point the website traffic.”
So, can we do the option that TLC Web Hosting is referring to?

There is no permanent static IP address for any WordPress.com blog. All IPs are dynamic ie. ever changing. Therefore WordPress.com does not provide static IP addresses.
