I have a website that was set up years ago by someone else. The admin is very low level, so low level that I am unable to make any changes to the content. I need to take the site down, but don’t have the credentials to do so. Can anyone help? Thanks.

    Hi,

Only an administrator of the site can upgrade your user lever. You can’t do that yourself.

    @josephanthony27
What musicdoc1 posted is correct. I’m adding more information below.

It’s important to know that companies, organizations, and groups of any kind do not own blogs. It’s likewise important to know that sharing login information is unsupported and discouraged.

Every WordPress.COM blog has a sole owner. It is the person with the WordPress.COM username account who registered the blog under that username account and a single associated email address, and who is the original Admin of the blogs registered under that username account.

You have to be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard.

The blog’s actual registered owner must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog and purchased upgrades to renew them or to update credit card information, or to transfer the blogs and the upgrades to another username account.
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/change-credit-card-details/
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/my-upgrades/#transferring-upgrades

Staff cannot do this for you. To delete a WordPress.COM hosted blog you must be logged in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog to navigate to Dashboard > Tools > Delete Site. The guide is here http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/

Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made.
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/

Bottom line: You will have to contact the site’s actual owner and have them delete the site or transfer the site to your username account so you can delete it.

    Hi timethief
Just a little bit. Then back to Christmas shopping, gift wrapping, etc. Hope you have a wonderful holiday!

    Hi there,
I hope you have a great holiday too. As you know I ❤️ singing. I have a string of concerts to sing in. I’m about 3/4’s of the way through them now and looking forward to the Chrismas Eve concert most of all. :)

A caroling may you go into the new year, and don’t let Jack Frost be a-nipping at your nose. Fa la la la la la la la la….
