How do I get followers on days that my blog stats show no visits or views?

How is it that I’m getting followers on a day that the Stats show me I have no visitors and no views? Is it possible for people to follow me without even seeing my blog?

It is if your settings allow it. If you have your reading settings to display full posts in feeds people can read your entire posts in the Reader, other RSS readers, or email notifications without ever having to click through to your blog. People can also follow your blog directly from the Reader without actually visiting it (in fact, many do this simply in the hope you’ll follow them back while never intending to read your blog at all, so-called spam-followers).
You can change your feed settings to not show entire posts under Settings ->Reading in the dashboard. Select Summary
