How do I get full access to my blog?

    Hi there
So I run the record label Cheap Thrills ((email visible only to moderators and staff)) and one of our artists set up the wordpress site for the label. He sent me a webmaster invitation to become an editor of the site, but I’m finding that I can’t change certain aspects of the site (appearance, widgets etc), but only post stories and even then not move them. He has since fallen off the radar as he is away touring and he doesn’t understand why I can’t access all this, but I need to get full access to the site to change the appearance, widgets, stories etc. The Cheap Thrills log ons effectively have to be the main admin person for this site, so we at the label can look after it moving forward. Are you able to advise us on what to do?

    Thanks in advance
    Fiona

All of the behaviour you are reporting is accurate for your WordPress.com blog.

You can’t fundamentally change the appearance without the Custom Design upgrade. Even if you had that, as an editor you couldn’t change it; you would need to be an Administrator.

Gotcha. And so how do we transfer privileges to become administrator of the blog? Do we have to try track down the person that set it up to transfer it over, or any way we can do it this end?

You have to be invited to become an administrator of the blog by the person who is currently an admin of the blog. There is literally no other way.

Ok, will have to try chase him down :/
    Thanks for the help!

It completely depends on the admin of the blog. There is no other way than you being invited by the admin of the blog.
