How Do I Get Full Width Pages?

    I’m a fairly new user of WordPress and although I’ve used other websites similar (such as Wix and Squarespace) everything is done completely different. I’ve been stuck for hours on how to make a page the full width of the screen rather than being limited to a certain size in the centre of the screen. I’ve tried multiple different themes, including ones that claim to be full page width compatible but I can’t seem to get it to work either.

    Also, what is the difference between a template and a page and why does the preview link always send me to the template and not the page?
