how do i get high resolution on wordpress?

Hi I have tried for ages to get high resolution on my logo on my home page but nothing i do works. So I am saving the image as 300 pixels and width/height 200 png file. not working..what can i do?

I had another small question. So I have been trying to make the grey on my page white for a long time but something wont let me do it. I am not sure if its the actual design of the theme thats not letting me? Do you think this is possible? I want to make the grey area white so the whole website is white.
