  I built this basic site in 2011 for the owner of WBMVC – and he lost all of the password and info and has let that old email lapse into nonworking..Its a mess. Long and short is that the contact page has wrong info and we would like to just remove the site from active and restart. How can i help him do that without all the sign in and verification stuff…????

  It is up to the owner/admin of a site to keep log-in details safe and update email contact details as necessary and WordPress.com staff are mostly unwilling to take a site down just on the say-so of a visitor to the forums There is virtually no content on that site apart from the contact-us page (which you say now shows the wrong address).

  All I can suggest is that you reply here with as many details of the site as you can find (as you were the one who built it) and type modlook in the tag box on the right. There have been rare occasions when staff have set old defunct sites to private which at least removes them from search engines.

  Hi there,

  To remove or make changes to a site in a different account you need to log in as the account that owns the site. We cannot make changes to a site in another account under any circumstances.
