How do I get images to show on the static front page of the Hero theme?

  I have to confess to being new at all this. I decided to use a theme (Hero) as it looked like what I wanted. I simply can’t get the images to show on the static front page. I know it’s got to be simple, but I’m probably too simple even to cope with simple. HELP PLEASE!
