How do I get links to avi films (on my Google Drive) to work easily on phones an

  I have posted lots of links to films which are on my Google Drive in avi format, but they won’t function on phones or tablets very easily, though they work on pcs.
  Please help.

  Hello there!

  Being hosted on Google Drive shouldn’t have a negative impact on the video being viewed on smartphones and tablets, but the crux of the issue is that the AVI file format isn’t really the best option for current web standards. And I can see that some devices may not be able to view that file format without conversion.

  The best way to make it more accessible for phones and tablets is to upload the AVI files into a more common web player and link to those instead. Typically these services convert the AVI file into one more suitable to their system on the back. You could add AVI files to your WordPress media library as one option.

  Vimeo will also accept uploads of AVI files, although YouTube does not.
