How do I get location-specific traffic to my WordPress site?

  Hello everyone!

  I am a photographer and artist living in Puerto Rico. When people in Puerto Rico search for “Puerto Rico photographer” on Google, I would like my name to pop up on the results. However, I do not want my site to be hidden to international customers, because I also do portrait commissions and am willing to travel.

  So how do I bring in location-specific traffic to my site, yet still remain internationally available? I am aware that posting often is key to showing up high on google results, but when it comes to location, I am not sure what I need to do?

  Obviously I should put the words “Puerto Rico” in my tagline and About section and write the word “puerto rico” in all of my blog posts. But is there anything businesses do beyond that? And again, how can I avoid limiting my blog to Puerto Rican audiences only?

  Using your location in the Tagline is good as is using the location in the Posts and the captions of the pictures will help your location search well

  There is no metadata access for us wordpress.COM bloggers and we cannot insert any code into the <header>. This is a multi-user blogging platform. Our blogs share a common architecture. We bloggers cannot access metadata on free hosted WordPress.com blogs.
