How do I get my blog posts to come under certain categories?
-
I’ve written a few blog posts and have different category pages to put them under but when I click that category on the side panel, it doesn’t seem to show up on my actual webpage. I want the posts to come under certain categories but that doesn’t seem to be working! Anybody have any ideas to help me? I’m not the greatest technologically so if you could dumb it down that would be fantastic!

Are you sure have selected the category checkbox? If yes, your post should come under the category,
-
Yes definitely selected! But when I go on my actual page and click the category nothing comes up underneath it?

If you have selected category you will see your post url as:
yourdomain.com/category/postIf you can see url as this, category is working for you.

Hello,
I’m guessing that you wish to add categories to your navigation.
Login into WordPress admin panel and go to Appearance -> Menus.
Find your primary menu, and remove blank pages from it. Now, expand Categories panel and add desired categories to the navigation. Save changes. http://screencast.com/t/ZdDdZiI9a

Any chance you could dumb that down for me, step by step? Sorry only just started my blog recently so still confused as to how to work things! It isn’t the easiest to navigate!

Hi @ktlumsden :) They were suggesting the oldschool way. Try this:
1) Add categories to a few published posts (or write some posts and add categories, and publish them.)
2) Go to My Site > Customize > Menus and edit your main menu
3) Add links for categories instead of pages. You can also remove the page links if you no longer want them. Publish your changes and you’re set!
I hope that helps!
