How do I get my blog posts to email correctly to my followers

  • Unknown's avatar

Good morning. I chatted with someone yesterday as well as on Monday about this issue and haven’t gotten anywhere in regards to finding a solution. Would love some help! At some point in the past week or so, my blog posts began emailing incorrectly to my subscribed followers. They are showing up in people’s inboxes as being from WordPress, not my blog name (Harvest and Honey). This confuses people and in some cases, it is causing the posts to go straight to people’s spam folders. It’s hurting my readership and keeping me from being able to post anything, which is clearly not okay for a blogger. I had someone forward one of these incorrectly labeled emails to your help team yesterday, as suggested to me and I wanted to follow up on that. I am cc’ed on that email. Would like to get this resolved so I can continue to post on my blog. Thanks.

    Hi there!

I searched my own emails back to February, and the ‘From,’ ‘Mailed By,’ and ‘Signed To,’ fields have always shown WordPress.com in them for notifications of new posts for me.

When looking over the forwarded email, however, I noticed that the following showed up in the title area: “New post on harvestandhoney.wordpress.com.” I’m wondering if this is the issue your followers are reporting to you? This should instead be displaying your site’s title: “New post on Harvest and Honey.”

I’ve just subscribed to receive email notifications for new posts on your blog. Next time you publish a post, I’ll receive an email and will be able to verify if I’m seeing the incorrect title also. From there, I’ll be able to pass this along to our team to see what’s going on.

    Hi there.

Following on from my previous message, I wanted to share a screenshot of the email I received for your latest post:

You can see that that your site title is correctly showing up as follows in the email: “New post on Harvest and Honey.” This is different from the forwarded email that was sent to us, so I’m wondering if you recently updated the site title on your site so that it reflects correctly in your emails? Let me know if this issue seems resolved to you know or if you’d like to troubleshoot further.

Yes! You are correct. I noticed that my blog name had disappeared from my account settings – maybe because I just deleted my site title and added a header image. That seems to have fixed it.

    Thanks!Sent from my iPhone

Yes, the subscription emails bring in their title from your site’s settings. If you removed your site title after you added your header image, that will have been the cause of it disappearing from the emails. I’m glad that’s fixed now! :) If you have any extra questions, we’ll be right here.
