You can use Webmaster tools to do this:

hmm, I’ve added my blog to google’s webmaster tools, but it’s still not turning up in searches. Do I need to wait longer? It’s been a couple of days.

You’ll have to ask Google. We only know what they tell us, which is the same as what they tell everyone else.

Timethief, my blog is showing up fine in google.com, and even google.co.nz, but when either of those searches is limited to “pages from new zealand” (which is how NZers would be searching for things related to my blog), my blog isn’t showing up. People in NZ linking to my blog show up, but not my blog itself.
eg if I search for ‘wildcrafty’ in google, the blog is the first hit. But if I limit that search to “pages from new zealand”, it doesn’t show at all.
Does adding to google’s webmaster tools just take some time?
